SIENTATE 2013: 2000 km on the road in Indochina by bicycle, red armchair and travel tripod CONCEPT ONE 622T

27. September 2013

Stefan Sirtl explains the SIENTATE project:
“SIENTATE means pleasure for travelling, faraway countries, foreign cultures, people and there stories. And it also means "Sit down" in Spanish. On my journeys around the globe I document meetings in the form of photo portraits. Travelling in low budget mode, either by foot with backpack, or by bicycle. True companions - a camera and La Silla, a red armchair from bulk waste.”

“CULLMANN gladly supports the SIENTATE project, because, besides the photography, we particularly like the closeness to and the communication with people as well as the >complicated simpleness< of the project”, says Bernd G. Heß, Marketing Director at CULLMANN to justify the cooperation.

Appropriately to the product launch of the new tripod line CONCEPT ONE in October, Stefan Sirtl already travels with the brand new travel tripod CONCEPT ONE 622T in his luggage. For CULLMANN this is a valuable practice/durability test and we are eagerly waiting for the experience made, particularly with respect to the use of the new camera QRC CONCEPT ONE OXC – the quickest QRC – in practice.

For his journey Stefan Sirtl chose the following CULLMANN products:

  • 1 camera bag CULLMANN ULTRALIGHT CP Maxima 300
  • 1 tripod CULLMANN MAGNESIT 528
  • 1 ball head CULLMANN MAGNESIT MB4.3
  • 1 Video/body rig CULLMANN MAGIC ChestPod
  • 1 travel tripod CULLMANN CONCEPT ONE 622T
  • 1 tripod bag CULLMANN CONCEPT ONE PodBag 200

2000 km through Asia – with bicycle, camera and armchair
Since September 2013 Stefan Sirtl travels across Asia, from Vietnam through Laos, Thailand and Cambodia back to Vietnam, together with his girlfriend Indre Leseviciute. And this time they travel by bicycle! On this occasion they will once again portrait people, collect stories and discover new things.
To the question, why this time by bicycle, Stefan Sirtl answers: "We hope that the bicycle as a means of transport will bring us even closer to people and give us more flexibility. Obviously, La Silla will once again be our companion, conveniently as a bicycle trailer!”.
